Loktak lake is a fresh water lake in Northeast India. It is a pulsation lake, with a surface area varying from 250 km2 to 500 km2 during the rainy season , The lake is located in Moirang in Manipur state,India. It is 50km from Imphal international airport. It is famous for phumdi floating over it. The largest of all the phumdis covers an area of 40km2 and is situated on the southeastern shore of the lake.Located on this phumdis, Keibul Lamjao National Park Is the only floating national park in the world.The park is the last natural refuge of the endangered Sangai.
